In the beginning it was just an idea
Munich, 1949: Karl Heilmeier, an engineer, and Wilhelm Weinlein, a merchant, founded the company "Heilmeier und Weinlein, Fabrik für Oelhydraulik GmbH & Co. KG". Their idea: to create a tailor-made hydraulic solution for every application and every problem. Their material of choice: steel. With a true pioneering spirit, innovative ideas, and above all emphasis on product quality, the young company rapidly conquered the market and built a loyal customer base.
Since then, more than 60 years have passed. The little factory has become one of the leading manufacturers in the hydraulics industry, better known under the brand name "HAWE Hydraulik". The company currently has about 2,100 employees working in Germany and at sales locations throughout the world. A traditional company like HAWE can regard the general trend towards globalisation as both a challenge and a great opportunity.
With our broad sales network, we are very flexible in responding to the ever-changing requirements of the international markets. Our network now consists of five sales offices in Germany and 14 subsidiaries in Europe, America and the Asia-Pacific region. We took a big step overseas – especially to Asia-Pacific – and this proved successful. Today, we collaborate with more than 30 independent sales partners worldwide.
In October 2008 HAWE became a European Stockholding Company (SE). Being an integral part of globalisation places the company on course for the future giving it global presence and a legal and capital structure that procures worldwide recognition.
High-quality solutions, customised for current and future markets.
Our quality standards are never compromised and demand more than just a constant readiness to innovate and state-of-the-art production technology. It is precisely the experience and the product- and market-related expertise of our employees that has made us the ideal partner for your tailor-made hydraulic systems. We can even implement unusual solutions. Because the basic principle of our quality philosophy is just as important as our various CAD, CAQ and PPS systems: at HAWE, quality is the norm.
HAWE is the only major manufacturer in our industry exclusively using steel for all pressurized components. And we supply components in a consistently modular structure. This is why that we are able to design the ideal hydraulic solution, even for complex problems. Nowadays, HAWE products have become absolutely indispensable in over 70 different industries, from tool machines to lifting technology, material flow technology, construction machines, mobile cranes, ship construction and even the off-shore industry. Be it in Germany, Europe, America or Asia-Pacific.
Even after closing a sale, we do not leave our customers out on their own with our products. We are always available to help answer any questions. Ultimately, the experiences of our customers in the daily application of our products will help us to make even better products.
From simple manual valves to state-of-the-art proportional hydraulics.
There is absolutely no alternative for our chosen material, steel. No aluminium or cast iron is used in any pressurized part. Therefore, HAWE products are compact, reliable, and provide the benefits of minimal installation sizes. When we say leak-free, we really mean it. After all, we are the leading manufacturer for high-pressure hydraulics. Our "modular concept" includes the whole range of product areas. From hydraulic units and cylinders to valves and pumps of all kinds and even our electronic economizing circuits and accessories.
Innovation is a matter of experience and know-how.
A great deal has changed at HAWE over the years. Yet the spirit of the founders still lives on. We are still an owner-managed family business, with the families' third generation providing continuity and vision. Even though we use a great deal of high-tech equipment, our employees themselves are still our greatest asset. Our employees are the ones who develop and improve our products and who pass their valuable experience on to their younger colleagues. And they thoroughly inspect each component once more after production - with more care and commitment than any machine would.
