Karl Haeusgen (47) is the speaker of the Board of Management of HAWE Hydraulik SE, Munich. He is responsible for the divisions Sales and Quality Management. He has been in charge of these divisions since 1996 in his function as Managing Director of HAWE Hydraulik GmbH & Co. KG, which became a European Stockholding Company (SE -Societas Europaea) in September 2008.
From 1994 to 1996 he acted as Head of Foreign Sales for HAWE laying the foundations for the company's international expansion.
Karl Haeusgen collected his first experiences in the Asian region with Barmag Far East Ltd., Hong Kong, a subsidiary of the German textile machine manufacturer Barmag AG, where he was controller for sales in the Asia-Pacific region from 1993 to 1994. Prior to this assignment he worked as assistant to the Board of Management of MAHO AG, Pfronten, in the sector Materials Management.
He graduated from the University St. Gallen, Switzerland with a degree in business administration. Parallel to his studies he worked as assistant to Prof. Dr. Thomas Dyllick from 1990 to 1991 at the Institute for Business Administration, in the department for ecological company management.
Karl Haeusgen is principal partner in the family company HAWE Hydraulik SE and grandson of Karl Heilmeier, one of the two company founders.
He is a member of the inner circle of the Management Board of VDMA (Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau e.V- Association of German machine and plant manufacturers) and sits on the Board of Management of the department for fluid engineering. He is also Chairman of the Board of Management of the VDMA Bavaria.
His spare time is taken up by his commitments on the Management Board of the endowment "Lyrik Kabinett München" (Lyric cabinet Munich; www.lyrik-kabinett.de), a non-profit association for the promotion of German and international lyrics as well as his partnership in the "Schwabinger Autorenbuchhandlung“ (www.autorenbuchhandlung.de), a small Munich bookstore dedicated to literary quality.
Karl Haeusgen is married and father of three children.
